How scanning works

Understand what happens from QR generation to recorded check event.

Use this article to understand the complete scan flow before working the gate.

Before you start

  • You know your school’s drop-off and pickup schedule.

Steps

  1. The authorized adult opens the app and chooses Show QR.
  2. They select the student or students and the check occasion.
  3. The app creates a short-lived QR code.
  4. You scan the QR code using the scanner.
  5. SpurrCampus shows the visitor, role, occasion, and student list.
  6. You confirm the scan if the details are correct.
  7. For pickup, the parent may receive a confirmation request.

Expected result

The scan becomes a traceable check-in or check-out record for the student.

Troubleshooting

  • If the adult selected the wrong occasion, ask them to generate a new QR code.
  • If parent confirmation is required, wait until the confirmation is complete before release.
