Before you start
- Know the escalation contact for the current shift.
Steps
- Stop processing the scan.
- Keep the student in a supervised area.
- Ask the visitor to wait calmly.
- Call the supervisor or school office.
- Share the student name, visitor name, and issue.
- Wait for instruction.
- Record the outcome if required.
Expected result
Unusual pickup situations are handled by authorized school staff, not decided at the gate.
Troubleshooting
- Escalate immediately for custody disputes, declined confirmations, or aggressive behavior.
- If there is immediate danger, follow your school emergency procedure.
